Biggest challenge for email marketers


There's a lot of talk about spam that's making it difficult for email marketers to stand out of the daily clutter. But there's even a bigger challenge for us...

Jim Ducharme talked to Flint McGlaughlin, Managing Director with MECLABS, during MarketingSherpa Email Summit 2013 in Las Vegas. "There's a problem in the way we are messaging", says Flint.

"We have forgotten that email is a two way medium. We no longer communicate as if we are expecting some give and take. Email has become another way to interrupt people's lives. We need to see it as a way to build relationships", says Flint.

Whenever you get an email from a 'noreply@sender.com' address, you know they are not interested in two way communication and they basically don't care about you. As Gary Vaynerchuk constantly points out: you have to care about your audience.
